Welcome to St Nicholas with St Barnabas, Weston-super-Mare

We are one Parish with two churches - St Nicholas in the village of Uphill and St Barnabas on the Coronation Estate.

Both churches are welcoming and happy to have visitors anytime, whether you are on holiday in the area, or looking for somewhere to worship the Lord.

We believe that all people are in need of God's love and so we preach that there is a need for a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus.  As he said himself,

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life."  John 3:16 NIV

We also believe that Scripture is the authoratative Word of God and as such it has a priority in our Parish life through teaching and preaching.  The Bible states:

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness."  2 Timothy 3:16, NIV

Our usual services are:

Sunday, 10 a.m. at St NIcholas, Uphill Road South, Uphill, BS23 4SD

During our Sunday service, we run Snickers, which is our children's club.  The children meet in Church and then go across to the Church Hall.  They rejoin the service towards the end.

When we have our All Together Worship service, the children remain in Church, and some of them take part in the service.

The recordings of our Sunday and special services are available in the Recordings tab.

Please join us for a drink at the end of the service.

St Barnabas Church, Westbury Crescent, BS23 4RB

St Barnabas Church is based on the Coronation Estate and also houses the Church Office.  The Church building was originally paid for by the local residents who contributed a shilling a week in the 1960s.  Our desire is for it to be a hub of the community as well as a place of worship.

Currently there are table tennis sessions on a Tuesday and Thursday evening, a craft club every Monday morning and a monthly lunch club.

The Church has a large hall which can be booked for your event.

Our Rector, Mark & His Family

Our Rector, Mark Madeley came to the Parish in June 2012.  He is married to Caroline, a primary school teacher in the neighbouring Parish,  and they have two children, Rachel and Ben.

Mark is passionate about Scripture and also has a very strong interest in Israel and the surrounding areas, having led many tours out to the Middle East.  He is an honorary staff member of the Church's Ministry among Jewish People.  In his spare time he is the local Scout leader and a National Observer for the Institute of Advanced Motorists.
